A while ago I saw this recipe and thought I would give it a try – Cream Filled Chocolate Cupcakes – at least the filling part. We had a chocolate cake layer in the freezer that I wanted to serve for Sunday dinner.

I’m not sharing the recipe, because we won’t be having it again. It was the one where you cook flour and milk and then add it to your butter/shortening and sugar. It didn’t become nice and creamy and thick. Instead it separated and was grainy.

It tasted fine, however, and a little graininess wasn’t going to stop  us from enjoying a delicious dessert. Next time, though, we’ll go with a marshmallow fluff filling of some sort.
